Customize Icons

There are a couple of types of custom icons available for forum admins: Custom Group and Forum Icons, and Special Forum Icons.

Custom Group and Forum Icons

Simple:Press Forum allows you to easily change the icons that appear beside Groups and Forums. Access the Forum ☛ Forums ☛ Manage Groups and Forum admin panel and select the desired group or forum for editing. Simply enter the file name of your custom icon in the provided input field.

Custom icon files must be uploaded manually and stored in the ‘Custom Icon Folder’ defined in Forum ☛ Configuration ☛ Storage Locations admin panel. This is where Simple:Press Forum will look for them.

Special Forum Icons

Up to 3 special icons can be created that will display in the login strip beside the login/logout/register icons. You can set these up in the Forum ☛ Components ☛ Custom Icons admin panel. You will need to supply the icon image file name, the display text (if desired) and the icon link (where you want the user to be directed to when the icon is clicked). Custom icons can link to anything but could be used, for example, to display a set of forum ‘rules’ or terms and conditions or maybe a custom contact page.
