Prune Database

The Forum ☛ Toolbox ☛ Prune Database administration panel is where you can selectively remove topics in bulk from your Forum. You can filter by date and/or Forum to limit the amount of data. After selecting the filter criteria and hitting Filter Topics, you will be presented with a list of topics that meet that criteria. You can select all the topics or individually choose the topics you want to delete. Be careful about selecting too many topics, though as you may get a URL too long error. If this happens, just select fewer topics and try again. We will be addressing this issue in a later update to Simple:Press Forum.

Select Topic Filter Date

Use the calendar control icon to select a date up to which you wish to review old topics that may now be redundant and which can safely be deleted from your forums. If you do not change this date, the current date will be used.

Select Forums To Review

From this list, use the checkboxes to select the forums whose topics you wish to review. By default, all are checked.

When you have entered the date and made you forum selections, click on the Filter Topics button at the bottom.

The filtering process can be CPU intensive. It is recommended to select a minimal number of forums (based on number of posts) to filter at once, especially if you are on shared hosting.
